Since You Love Records and Supporting the Scene

The Flywheel is having it's annual record fair tomorrow. It's free and a perfect way to spend a rainy day crate digging for gems.

Make it your business to be at this show tonight. I would have posted about it sooner, but I've been in a windowless basement listening to The In-Kraut, Vol. 3: Hip Shaking Grooves Made In Germany 1967-1974 for the past couple of hours.

WMUA GETS PROACTIVE

After what appears to be an ice age length hibernation, WMUA's hosting its first show of the semester. This is a going to be a electronic-toy-thingamajig music annihilation, so please show some love and come on over. It being free and all should be a big plus. Also the Dan Friel LP is still fucking amazing.

Lock Groove Lullaby.

I truly love Stereolab, to the point where I don't really care that they essentially have been making the same album over & over for about fifteen years. Their new one, Chemical Chords, is probably the most fun-sounding record they've done since Emperor Tomato Ketchup - all short, bright pop nuggets that will almost make you forget about that whole lackluster Cobra & Phases Group Play Voltage In The Milky Night/Sound Dust-era.

A video for the new record's "Three Women":
